This standard covers the steel pipes made from different manufacturing process like seamless steel pipe, Electric Resistance Welded (ERW) steel pipe, Longitudinal Seam Submerged Arc Welding (LSAW) pipe and Spiral Submerged-Arc welding (SSAW) pipes.

SSAW Spiral Welded Steel Pipe API 5L X52 PSL1/PSL2 is made of hot rolled steel coils, which is extruded under normal atmospheric temperature and welded by a double wire double sided submerged arc welding process.
